Upcoming Fundrasing Events
Posted 12 Sep 2016
These are exciting times for the Elena Baltacha Foundation. We are incredibly proud and honored to have two of tennis's most
talented people as our patrons, both of whom have had an exciting summer themselves. Judy Murray has seen both her sons achieve
Grand Slam success this year, Andy claiming his second Wimbledon Singles Title and Jamie adding to his Australian Open Doubles
success last week by winning the US Open Doubles with Bruno Soares. And the newest addition to the Foundation Team, Martina Navratilova, made it through to another US Open final with Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario
in the Women's Champions Doubles.
The Fundraising Continues
Last month we saw a spectacular effort from a group of Foundation parents and trustees who took part in a 100 mile bike ride
around Suffolk, raising several thousand pounds in the process. You can get all the details here, and our fundraising efforts are continuing in the coming weeks. On September 18th Mick Scanlon
will be running the Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon 2016.
The event starts and finishes in Christchurch Park and is expected to attract over 2,000 runners including GB Olympian
Dominic King. Dominic is the UK No.1 50km Race Walker. If you like to support Mick's efforts he's set up a
Just Givingpage or you can message him via Twitter.
All money raised will go towards the great work the Foundation is involved in.
Forehands & Foxtrots
Looking a bit further down the line we are also going to be hosting an evening of Ballroom and Latin dancing in Ipswich.
The event, called Forehands & Foxtrots, will take place at St. Clements Social Club and as well as your chance to
take to the dance-floor, there will be a performance by three of the Academy tennis players. For more information and
ticket details visit the Forehands & Foxtrots page or contact Anna Sheppard via email annamariasheppard@yahoo.co.uk or
