ABOUT The Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis (EBAT)
The Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis (EBAT) provides very high quality tennis programmes for both young girls and boys. EBAT’s
doors are open to all, no matter where they live or go to school. EBAT are well aware that many families can afford to
provide tennis opportunities for their children, but we are also aware that there are many families across Great Britain
that cannot. At EBAT our mission is to ensure that we visit and promote tennis in all schools, those situated in the
deprived areas of Ipswich as well as the more affluent areas.
We are also working hard to ensure that the many barriers that stop young children playing tennis are removed. Where ever
possible we provide a wide range of support for players and their families if they are struggling to start in tennis
or move up the performance pathway. EBAT re-invests all sponsorship back into the academy improving the future of all
our young aspiring players.
Our EBAT sites offer pastoral care, medical screenings, Sports Science support, strength and conditioning, injury prevention
programmes and tennis technical squads and individuals. It prides itself on having the most comprehensive parent and
player educational programme in Great Britain which includes player emotional support, psychology, nutrition and tennis
lifestyle programmes.
The academy team and programme is run under the watchful eye of Academy Director, Ex WTA touring coach Nino Severino who
launched the academy in 2010 with Elena Ex WTA professional touring player.
