Two of our foundation members were given the opportunity to attend The Championships as VIP guests. They both had the opportunity to meet Martina Navratilova, our Patron at the time. Martina is one of tennis’s greatest champions, claimed 18 Grand Slam singles titles, 31 doubles majors, and a record 9 Wimbledon singles crowns. Known for her athleticism and versatility, she held the World No.1 ranking for over 300 weeks. Beyond titles, she remains a trailblazer and advocate for equality in sport. They also met Billie Jean King, a trailblazing icon of tennis and equality, she won 39 Grand Slam titles, including 12 in singles. She famously triumphed in the 1973 “Battle of the Sexes,” advancing gender equality in sport. Founder of the WTA, she remains a powerful advocate for women’s rights and social justice.
